I had a great time at Newport Dunes. The location is wonderful, right on the water and close to bike paths and Balboa Island. The beach front site we had was spacious and comfortable, though some non-premium spots were quite small. A downside was the poor Wi-Fi, which was not very reliable during our stay. Overall, it was enjoyable, especially with the convenient camp store and nice amenities for families.

Our premium beach front site was spacious with lovely grass and a picket fence, making it enjoyable for our family. However, some other spots seemed quite small.

Our stay at Newport Dunes Waterfront Resort and Marina was quite enjoyable, offering a unique blend of camping and luxury. The location is absolutely delightful, especially with its proximity to the beach, perfect for families looking for fun activities. The friendly atmosphere among fellow campers added to our experience. However, there were a few downsides, such as the limitations with the shower facilities and the higher price point for larger sites, which may not be ideal for everyone.

Rooms

Our campsite was spacious enough, providing room for our trailer, a picnic table, and included all necessary hookups. This setup made our stay comfortable.

My stay at Newport Dunes Resort and Marina had its ups and downs. The location was fantastic, just a short walk from the ocean with great amenities for families. While the campgrounds were well-kept and there were lots of activities for both kids and adults, I was disappointed with some maintenance issues and the limited space. Overall, I had a lovely time and would recommend it to those who enjoy beach camping, though be prepared for some quirks.

Rooms
7.0
The campsite provided plenty of room for our RV, but the setup process was a bit challenging because the slides and awnings required careful maneuvering.
Service

The staff was generally friendly, which made our arrival more enjoyable; however, it was frustrating not to get a response regarding pool issues.

5.6/10

We had a decent time at Newport Dunes overall. The area is beautiful and serene, with a nice view of the bay and plenty of space. However, the cottages left much to be desired, as they felt worn, with uncomfortable beds and limited kitchen supplies. While there were some fun activities available, a few technical hiccups like a water shortage and sewer backup really put a damper on things.

Rooms
5.0
I stayed in one of the cottages and found it quite disappointing. The beds were uncomfortable and the loft area was cramped. The lack of cooking utensils was also frustrating.
Service
5.0
The service was hit or miss, particularly with maintenance issues that took time to resolve. One staff member seemed a bit abrupt when I inquired about an issue.
Location
7.0
The location is nice, with a view of the bay and plenty of green space for pets. However, it's not directly on the beach, and the airport noise is a bit annoying.
Dining
Facilities
6.0
Facilities include water obstacles and a small store, but the amenities could use improvement. The water issue during our stay was disappointing.

5.0/10

My stay at the RV park was a mixed bag. While the amenities like the pool were quite nice and having full hookups made my experience smoother, the cottages were far from what I'd hoped. I was disappointed with the condition of the cottages and the constant noise from airplanes made it hard to relax. However, if you enjoy being social and close to a bay, this might be a good fit for you.

Rooms
5.0
The cottages were worn out and uncomfortable, which made sleeping a challenge. They had some stoves, but you couldn’t rely on having one in every unit, and the kitchen supplies were minimal.
Service
5.0
The service from the management was quite frustrating at times, especially when dealing with loud neighbors.
Location
5.0
The park is set back from the beach and is right under the flight path for John Wayne Airport, which might be a dealbreaker for some.
Dining
Facilities
7.0
The facilities include a nice pool and a social atmosphere, perfect for families and those looking to make new friends.
